July 25 2019 - Genosys Inc. was invited to hold a Mendel Analytics Seminar at Wuhan Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Overwhelming response from 40 professors and students attended the seminar had greatly helped to open up deep discussions between Genosys and Wuhan Institute of Virology. The breakthrough in NGS sequencing technologies has enabled the generation of large amount of genomic data quickly and affordably. Researchers now face great challenges in the bioinformatics analysis process as they are mostly trained as biologists and not IT experts, the need for them to learn programming languages in order to solve biological problems is a formidable task. Mendel Analytics’ visualization and automated workflow analysis and reporting system are absolutely the ideal solution for high-throughput sequencing data analysis. Mr. Fei Huang, R&D Director of Genosys, Inc. elaborated on the functions of 40+ modules and 200+ tools installed in Mendel Analytics and demonstrated how to use the drag-and-drop interface to set up analysis workflows to analyze NGS, PacBio, ONT and 10X genomics high-throughput sequencing data. The professors and students gave high comments on the clean and simple user interface, comprehensive tools and powerful analytical functions of Mendel Analytics. In partnership with Wuhan Institute of Virology, Genosys will add more customized and proprietary bioinformatics tools for virology, agriculture and environmental microbiology, population health and infectious diseases research in Mendel Analytics. These tools could be easily installed in Mendel Analytics and be used by any researcher with ease, eliminating errors and result discrepancies caused by manual analysis and facilitating the establishment of a systematic, secure, comparable and reproducible bioinformatics analysis platform in a research laboratory.
July 8 - 11, 2019 - Genosys Inc, the leading genomic big data technologies company was invited to participate in the Alpha Program at 2019 RISE Hong Kong, the largest tech conference in Asia. Genosys showcased Mendel Analytics, the world’s first genomic big data visualization and automated analysis software for NGS, PacBio and ONT high-throughput sequencing data. Mendel Analytics is a local server based software that enables automated workflow analysis and reporting of high-throughput sequencing data. Its visualization and automation technologies eliminate errors and result discrepancies caused by manual analysis and help to establish a systematic, secure, comparable and reproducible bioinformatics analysis protocol in a research laboratory. Without the need to learn any programming language, researchers can use Mendel Analytics to set up any workflow of their choice to analyze their sequencing data with ease. Mendel Analytics is the ideal solution for high-throughput sequencing bioinformatics analysis as it frees researchers from the tedious process of code writing so that they can concentrate on solving biological problems. The demonstration of how to use Mendel Analytics has attracted the attention of many attendees and investors at the RISE conference. Many international visitors from large multinational companies such as Merck, Samsung and Mizuho Bank were amazed by the powerful features and easy to use interface of Mendel Analytics, they have expressed deep interest in collaborating with Genosys to explore the use of Mendel Analytics in various aspects of life sciences such as pharmaceutical, industrial, clinical and scientific research areas.
On April 17, 2019 Genosys, Inc. organized the 1st "Mendel Analytics Training and Seminar" at the Institute of Animal Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. On April 18, 2019, Genosys, Inc. organized " Mendel Analytics Workshop" at the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The purpose of the two seminars was to to enhance customers’ understanding of the various modules and functions of Mendel Analytics, the proprietary high-throughput sequencing data analytics and visualization system of Genosys, Inc. The two seminars attracted more than 50 professors and PhD students from many prestigious universities and research institutions. Mr. Fei Huang, R&D director of Genosys, Inc. elaborated on the functions of the different types of tools installed in Mendel Analytics and demonstrated how to use the drag-and-drop interface to set up workflows to analyze NGS and PacBio high-throughput sequencing data. The professors gave high comments on the clean and simple user interface, comprehensive tools and powerful analytical functions of Mendel Analytics. They strongly believed that Mendel Analytics system will help them to reduce their bioinformatic analysis cost, shorten the turnaround time, increase their own flexibility in bioinformatics analysis and ensure their data security.
March 18, 2019 – Professor Tianzhen Zhang of Zhejiang University together with Genosys’ Mendel Analytics platform development team published in Nature Genetics an article featuring the most complete genome assemblies ever achieved for the top two leading cultivated allotetraploid cotton species, G. hirsutum L. (AD)1 and G. barbadense L. (AD)2. The two cultivated allotetraploid cotton species have striking differences in fiber quality, growth habits, and yields. As a result of the chromosome-level assemblies, researchers can now compare these two genomes and use them to help pinpoint the genetic differences responsible for these diverse traits. This can take much of the guesswork out of developing better quality and higher yield cotton as well as of studying cotton origin and domestication. The full paper titled in “Gossypium barbadense and Gossypium hirsutum genomes provide insights into the origin and evolution of allotetraploid cotton” is available with the following url: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41588-019-0371-5
July 25, 2017 – NRGene and Genosys partnered to deliver two complete cotton genomes for professor Tianzhen Zhang at Zhejiang University. "Cotton is one of the world’s most important non-food agricultural crops," says NRGene CEO, Gil Ronen. "By delivering critical insights into its make-up, we're helping researchers develop healthier plants with higher yields that require fewer resources."
NRGene released its latest assembly results at the 7th International Crop Science Congress held in Beijing on August 14-19, 2016. Based on the original DeNovoMAGICTM 3.0 assembly technology and coupled with 10X Genomics' linked reads technology, NRGene has improved the genomics assembly results to a new level. Taking maize (W22) genome for example, its assembled Scaffold N50 has been increased from 9.4Mb to 35.5Mb.
